When you think about language, think about how a child goes about learning how to speak. A child doesn't memorize common words and phrases because someone tells them to. No, a child first babbles some sounds, then these babbles turn into words, and then eventually the words turn into phrases. Next these phrases develop into sentences and hopefully whole dialogs follow.

Children seemingly learn to speak a new language with a crazy amount of ease. This is because a child logically progresses from one learning phase to another. This logical progression is commonly called the linguistic approach to learning language.

Children can become bilingual at an early age if given the opportunity because they don't over complicate the learning process. We as adults tend to over think learning a new language. Then trick to learning how to speak Spanish fluently is to think like a child again.

If you want to learn Spanish like crazy, then use the linguistic approach. Your learning curve will be much shorter and you will progress very logically to the next step in the process of speaking Spanish.
