If you want to start to learn a new language like Spanish or any other language the following two recommendations are applicable to maximize your learning experience:

The first recommendation is to make an appointment with you. In my experience it is a win or lose factor. It doesn't matter if your are learning a language in a traditional way or by yourself with the aid of an online learning program like Rocket Spanish; if you are able to dedicate a regular time table to learn your lessons even for few minutes, but at daily bases your improvement will be by farther more than if you only study one or two times a week the same amount of time. If you studying your language lesson in this way you'll have them fresh in your mind for the next day and your progress will be by far superior. If you practice often any skill, you turned it in a second nature; same is with a new language.

Second recommendation is to practice in every opportunity that you have, nothing is better than use whatever you are willing to learn. Maybe you are near from native speakers or you live in a Spanish speaker country, if it is the case, you are in the most favorable environment for a quick learning, and by far you are in better position from other language learner's enthusiast. But if you are not in that situation, do not dishearten yourself; you still have several options for maximize your speaking skills.

You can buy a book of your interest in the language and start reading, don't worry if you currently have few vocabulary, just go and start reading, when you finish the book, I can guarantee that you will be amaze of the increasing in your vocabulary you will be willing to start reading one more books in Spanish now with better understanding and an increased vocabulary base.

Internet is another fascinating resource to learn a new language, try to subscribe you in a forum of a subject of your interest, but in Spanish and start communicating with people in that language again, don't worry if you are not feeling to have a good writing skill, you'll see that the people on the forum will appreciate your efforts.

So these are just some ideas on how to enhance your learning experience and take you to the next level.  For now I just can tell you "hasta luego" (see you later), "si, se puede" (yes you can).
